Urad dal ki Khasta Kachori

  • 500 gm wheat flour
  • 200 gm split Black Gram/Urad Dal soaked for 6 hours
  • 5-6 Green chillies
  • 10-12 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh corriander
  • 1 tspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tspoon carom seeds
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • ½ tspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ tspoon red chilly powder
  • 1 tspoon garam masala
  • 1 tspoon salt
  • Oil for frying
  1. Before kneading wheat flour, add 2 tbspoon oil, 1 tspoon carom seeds, ½ tspoon salt and mix them well
  2. When mixture is ready, add water in small quantity into the flour to knead it into a soft dough
  3. When soft dough is ready, allow it to rest for 1 hour
  4. Meanwhile, make a green paste required for stuff.Grind Green chilly, garlic, cumin seed into coarse paste. Do not use water while grinding
  5. Now grind Urad dal into a coarse paste. Do not use water while grinding
  6. Add 2 tbspoon oil in pan and heat the pan. Now add a pinch of asafoetida, ½ tspoon turmeric powder
  7. Now Add split Black Gram(Urad Dal) Paste, green masala paste, 1 tspoon garam masala powder, ½ tspoon red chilly powder, ½ tspoon salt
  8. Mix this Mixture well for 5 mins
  9. Now add fresh coriander and turn off the flame
  10. Make medium size balls of dough
  11. Flatten the balls using whole wheat flour. Now add 1 spoon stuff in the centre and close the kachori using rounding method. Now roll the balls into small kachoris of 4-5 inches
  12. Fry the Kachoris in hot oil
  13. While frying Kachoris, turn them on both sides so that they get cooked evenly on both sides
  14. Enjoy Kachoris with Veg Gravy!!!
