  • 200 gms Okra/Lady's Finger/Bhindi.Wash and pat dry the Okra before cutting it into small pieces.
  • 1 medium sized onion cut lengthwise
  • 3-4 green chillies finely cut
  • 7-8 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tspoon turmeric powder
  • 2-3 kokum
  • ½ cup freshly grated coconut
  • Cooking Oil
  • Salt
  1. Heat 2 tbspoon oil in a pan.Add chopped garlic and roast until it turns slighty brown.
  2. When garlic turn brown, add chillies and chopped Onions and roast until it becomes tender.
  3. When Onions turn tender, add turmeric powder and stir for a min.Ensure that Onions remain tender and do not become brown.
  4. After a min, add Okra/Bhindi and stir it nicely.
  5. Cook Bhindi uncovered.Stir Bhindi frequently to prevent it from getting burnt.
  6. Bhindi would get cooked in 4-5 mins.Now add salt as per taste, and shredded kokum. Mix them nicely.
  7. Stir Bhindi for a min and then turn off the flame.Now add freshly grated coconut and mix it well.
  8. A perfect Lunchbox recipe that can be enjoyed with Roti.
